Extract the files into

~/.gimp2.2/gradients/

where ~ is your home dir, i.e. /home/johnny

GIMP version may vary.

Do these work on Macs? If so, how are they installed?

Yep they work on all versions of Gimp, all you need to do is drop it in your Gimp "Gradients" folder I'm not sure exactly which path gimp is installed on mac but if you did a search for Gradients folder and drop the files in there it should work fine.

Right click on Gimp.APP, and choose show package content. Find the gradient folder inside.

What does that mean, exactly? What licensing effect are you trying to achieve with that? Wouldn't one of the Creative Commons licenses be more appropriate?

your right, i really had no idea what i was talking about :S now that i read about the types of licenses being under the CC is more appropriate. i updated the post with the CC license.

Ok ive got them here and im about to extract them to the gradients folder, but when Archive Manager cames up and shows the available folders, i dont see the gimp folder. Yeh I know you have to have to have hidden folders viewed, but i cant see how i can do that from Archive Manager. Oh yeh, im using ubuntu. Anyone know how to solve this?

for me, the place to install was C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\gradients (yes this is with gimp 2.4.2)

Awesome gradients, but I seem to be unable to find anywhere on my mac to put them. I have spotlighted Gradients,Gimp, and have come up empty.

Linux users: If you want all your users to access these gradients, copy the downloaded files to /usr/share/gimp/2.0/gradients/

hey I can´t get the gradients working in gimp, it says premission denied when I tried to open them. I have them in the correct folder because fonts and brushes which I also have downloaded function well.

I was able to install the gradients, but I had to install it in C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\gradients. I guess I don't have the latest version of GIMP D:

You know, maybe the button only shows in certain web browsers. I'm using Firefox.

No download shows for me either. Tried with FF, Opera, IE and Safari. Perhaps downloads are restricted to some parts of the world and europe isnt included?

i have the gradients in the gradient folder but it still doesnt show up on my gradient menu while im in gimp i have 2.6 ver of it on a mac ox leopard

Gimp Newbie here.....
I have downloaded the web 2.0 Layer Styles, but I have gimp version 2.4 not 2.2.
It seems that the newer version doesn't like these styles. I can add them to the gradients folder with out any problem but when I try to open them via Gimp, I get an error messages that says the Gimp can't open that file....
Here is the message that I get:

Dede did you extract the zip file? That's the only thing I can think of. I'm using gimp 2.6 which is even newer version and they work fine.

And that's why I'm posting, to say thank you to the person who made these!

Thanks for clearing this up I was looking in the windows progam folder for the gradients folder instead of the C:\Documents and Settings\username\.gimp-2.6\gradients folder.
