Something that has bothered me ever since Gimp-tutorials.net was launched almost 2 months ago, was the hideous layout! it just seems when ever something is related to open source its as if it must look Ugly! which should'nt be the case, so After finding the right drupal theme "Deco" and hours of making things right ! we are happy to introduces the all new sleek looking Gimp-tutorials.net !
The logo, which was designed by me and inspired by a Gimp's own logo Wilber. but in this case a futuristic version a "robot". which haven't named it yet (any ideas?)
The layout has had a dramatic change, and many of the side bars have been moved around to avoid clutter i split community related things like Recent Comment,Active Thread,New members .etc all into the Forum area. i think that makes sense unlike before all that was squashed onto the front page which made it feel like some kind of statistic site.
one of the features we have introduced is User Points, which is given when ever a user posts a tutorial or comment, currently you get 5 points for tutorials and 1 point for a comment.
thats basically a short roundup of the most obvious changes, if anyone has any suggestion feel free to share it.

Re: Gimp-tutorials.net's New Face
With this new layout, I've decided to create an account, and then, I've seen a small problem : it's quite difficult to know if we are logged in or not, as the "My Settings" block is lost in the left blocks.
NIce! the new look feels
NIce! the new look feels very unique. The only thing IM always confused about is to kwno when im logged in or not. Thre is no "logged in" or sign of anyway =\

Re: Gimp-tutorials.net's New Face
@Naki : I tried to address that problem by having the my settings block above on top, hopefully that will make it easier.
@Yossi : maybe now that the My settings block is on top with
the logout it in it, it should be easier to notice.
