Average: 4.8 (68 votes)

Downloads Details:

The complete 130 Ultimate Web 2.0 Gradients for Gimp!, thats right everyone, SGlider12 has took the courage, time and effort to re-create the original 130 Ultimate Web 2.0 styles form Photoshop by deziner folio to the Awesome Program we all love "The Gimp".

inside the zip you will find the Xcf gimp source file with each gradient and its name in the layer.

Be sure to give it the Thumbs up if your a Stumbler, and spread the word with all the other social bookmark sites out there.

How to install

Windows: to install these gradients place them inside the gradients folder for example if you installed gimp in drive C: then this is how the path would look

C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\gradients

Mac:
Mac install path: ~ (Hard Drive)> Applications> GIMP (Right click the icon and hit 'Show Package Contents)> Contents> Resources (From here it is same as Windows...)> Share> Gimp> 2.0> Gradients>

Ubuntu: open terminal in directory with downloaded file.
and type:
unzip 130-UltimateWeb2-0-Gradients-for-Gimp.zip
sudo mv gradients/* /usr/share/gimp/2.0/gradients/

then you can delete extracted files as well as .zip file

Still having problems? then go the help section on the

href="http://gimper.net"target="_blank">forum for help.

thanks to SGlider12 for all the hard work.

This works in any Linux distro, I believe. But I'd rather put it in ~/.gimp-2.4/gradients  (or -2.2, if you're stuck on v2.2)    .

How do I use these? I installed them (ubuntu) but how do I use them in gimp? In the gradents drop-down I see only what I saw before and they are not a brush?

Did you restart the Gimp?

Submitted by sglider12 on Fri, 12/07/2007 - 04:03.

Did you restart the Gimp? I know you have to do that in the Windows version if you add a new plugin, gradient, script, etc. (These are gradients by the way..)

this probably isn't the most practical way to do it but how about you do a search for all the folders on you pc named gradients and place them in each one :D because it seems that you might not have it in the right folder.

 There are two places you

Submitted by sglider12 on Sun, 12/09/2007 - 23:27.

There are two places you can put the gradients that I know of in Windows:

c:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\gradients

and

c:\Documents and Settings\(Your Computer Account Name)\.gimp-2.4\gradients

c:\Documents and Settings\(Your Computer Account Name)\.gimp-2.2\gradients

 I recommend the 2nd one i listed. It's the one I use.

Error Message!

Submitted by Gimpmine on Sat, 12/22/2007 - 21:59.

Hi there! Let me first say that your tutorials are wonderful, very clear and easy to follow! Thanks so much for sharing them with us. I did have one problem, however, I am new to GIMP, and downloaded this gradients file, and could not get it uploaded. I did get an error message, which was repeated about ten times, saying that there was no script file.

Can you tell what I need to do to get this to work? I would really appreciate it!

Thanks again!

Make sure the image and the folders are not in the gradient file or it will not load.

Tried That

Submitted by Gimpmine on Sun, 12/23/2007 - 04:16.

Hi there and thanks for the quick response. I tried that, but I still got this error: FATAL parse error in Gradient File". Any other suggestions would be appreciated. I just love this program. I've been using Paintshop Pro 11, but the Gimp is now the way I want to go. It's fantastic!

Hi again, I was disappointed when no one gave an answer to my last question, and fooled around with it until it worked. Thank you EchoXero for your quick response. I appreciate your help!

Re: 130 Ultimate Web 2.0 Gradients for Gimp

Submitted by Gimpmine on Mon, 12/24/2007 - 00:05.

Part of the problem was the folder in there. I had moved all the files into that folder. Then I tried removing the gradients from the folder, then copying them where they needed to be, but that cause my system to crash (LOL) True story! Anyway I had to uninstall Gimp, reinstall, and I tried the 30 Web2.0 gradient download, and that file set-up was different. The 2.0 gradients were the only thing that remained after you unzipped the folder. Copied that, and it worked. Removed all the other stuff from the 130 gradients (I had also placed the readme in there .... go figure) followed the same steps, and it works wonderfully. I am in love with this program. I have been interested in it for a long time, but allowed friends to discourage me from using it because it was "too hard to follow". I have not had a problem with it. Your tuts are absolutely phenomenal, and easy to follow, and I am having fun just experimenting with it. The Web gradients are the icing on the cake! I'm getting the effects I want, without working through all the layers! You are brilliant, my friend!

I looked at the page source and I finally found it! I realized that a filter in adblock blocks that big download button. A simple text besides it would probably help others. Thanks again
